LÍS’s General assembly was held at the University of Bifröst 5th til 7th march. The theme of the assembly was education at challenging times. At the assembly there were student representatives from most student unions in Iceland. The assembly was split into workshops, lectures and changes were made to LÍS’s laws and policies. SHA had 6 representatives at the general assembly, Almar Knörr Hjaltason, Guðrún Vaka Þorvaldsdóttir, Nökkvi Alexander Rounak Jónsson, Sólveig Birna Elísabetardóttir, Steinunn Alda Gunnarsdóttir and Særún Anna Brynjarsdótti and they did great as representatives for SHA. There was also another student from UNAK, Jonathan Wood but he was a representative for LÍS’s equal rights committee.
Jonathan is a second year student at the Polar Law program at UNAK, announced his candidacy to LÍS’s executive committee as Equal Rights Officer and was given the position. SHA’s executive committee would like to congratulate him on his new position and are really proud to have such a powerful individual on behalf of UNAK, at LÍS.
Congratulations Jonathan!
