All students must register at the beginning of each school year
Exchange students need to pay 2.500 ISK for the semester (5000 ISK for the whole school year).*
International student (English speaking, living in Iceland) need to register with their association/subunion each year. Registration is free until September 15, 23:59. After the registration deadline ends, you have to pay 5,000 ISK membership fee for the school year and 2,500 ISK for the semester.
Those who choose not to register as a member of association/subunion may be denied acess to events hosted by association/subunion or denied freedrinks and food at their events. All students are registered in SHA and therefore get access to all events organized by SHA, but do not receive the special benefits that a association/subunion offers to its members.
*The Student Association of the University of Akureyri reserves the right to collect membership fees from exchange students studying at the University of Akureyri and who have registered with the Student Association of the University of Akureyri, provided they have not paid registration fees to the university.
