ASSOCIATION/SUBUNION REGISTRATION & STUDENT ELECRTIC CARD

All students must register at the beginning of each school year HERE

Exchange students need to pay 2.500 ISK for the semester (5.000 ISK for the whole school year).*

International students (English speaking, living in Iceland) need to register with their association/subunion each year. Registration is free until September 15, 23:59. After the registrarion deadline ends, you have to pay 5.000 ISK membership fee for the school year and 2.500 for the semester. 

Those who choose not to register as a member of association/subunion may be denied acess to events hosted by association/subunion or denied freedinks and food at their events. All students are registered in SHa and therfore get acess to all events orginized by SHa, but do not receive the special benefits that a association/subunion offers to its mebers.

*The Student Association of the University of Akureyri reserves the right to collect membership fees form exchange students studing at the University of Akureyri and who have registered with the Student Association the the University of Akureyri, provided they have not paid registrarion fees to the university.

Association/Subunion 

There are 7 Association/Subunions, they are divided accoring to faculty, in which they are studying. It allows students to get to know students who are studying the same courses as them.

Student Electric Card

Students will get acess to the SHA student card for the 2024-2025 school year on Semptember 1. Students do not get automatic acess to the student card, so it does not make sense to log into yor app until September 1, as your access will not be active until then. Those students who register after September 1 will get access on Septeber 16 after registrarion ends.

You can acess our electronic student card in the App Store and Google Play, the app is called Stúdentafélag HA. 

With sudent referral akort, you can take advantage of the various discounts that can be found in our app.

Be sure to ask if vendors have school offers, it is very common for discounts to be given on presentation of an electronic school card.
